Four Seasons in 7 days and What Must We do with our time? Be domestic of course…

It’s rained, snowed, had some sunshine the rain, rain, rain. We must have a creative mind and imagination and yes love a clean home as a housewife even though I respect all women with careers I just do better at home now and it works for our family.

For sure a blog will be posted. I’ve been so busy and there’s only do much time in a day and time gets away from us plus I’m always engulfed in a book!

My current read that I’ve had reserved!

I’ve had this reserved at the library and it finally came in.

I’m in love with this kitchen decor! Found it at a store called Jimminy Crickets & love her prices!

I’ve done so much cleaning and decluttering lately. I think that when many of us get this done is winter time. I miss my warm weather and I have to find things to do indoors even if it is cleaning or decluttering and you don’t realize how much you accumulate until you get into the task of doing it.

My son thought it would be cute to curl her ears back! So cute!
Sweet Bella she’s growing!

Still taking care of my Bella and Stubs there family. It’s been a tough task getting Bella potty train. I’m using the potty pads sometimes she does well at times not. They love each other now. I’m so grateful. I’ve also started making the homemade dog treats, and there so much healthier, budget friendly to make and we all know our bills budget soars in the winter and our low speed months kick in for quite a few months so I’m saving a buck anyway I can. Happy there happy with them and eat them well!

Living room is a mesas while I clean elsewhere!
Always be happy!
A Gift from my son!

Yum! Yum!
A Gift from my son!

This is my oldest son he’s moved here permanently and I’m so happy for this. I feel more at ease with him here. He has a mental illness so I’m especially grateful and my heart no longer hurts for him. He is loved and worthy and I make sure he knows it daily.

Otherwise I’ve done so much cleaning, dusting, organizing and decluttering. These are the things we find to do to fill our winter days or so least I do.

I took a break for a while and my number 1 goal is to blog more. Yes, I’ll be doing  blogs on goals for sure for 2019. Most bloggers do, just remember they must be realistic. That’s the trick to it.

Dinner this evening was beans, cornbread and fried potatoes, it was delicious and a very fulfilling meal I added shredded carrots for color and they turned out nicely! Very filling with even some leftovers. Good for the budget when we can reuse left overs.

Living room and can’t you just tell I’m elsewhere cleaning and cleaning!
“Don’t let the sun go down on our anger! Sure we all have it at times!

I love my counter display I even put my own twists on them and add southern charm always! Organization and order in life is a have to for me and a must! Make it fun !

I change mine up at times probably to much.

I’m looking forward to all of our 2019 goals end anxious to see what we accomplish through out this year !

Let’s have a wonderful year and endure the persevere thatd6yhe key to weather the storm no matter and still praise Him through our storms.

Way past my bedtime and until next time dears! We do live in the country and sleep peacefully however, it’s late!

I have a loving husband that is my best friend, my son is happy here and:

Today I choose Joy!

With great books all the classics!

About Me

About Me

Welcome to my blog “My Journey as a Housewife! I’ve thought about this long and hard as I decided after all these years I may as well write and blog about what I do best and who I am which is a stay at home housewife.

I’m Vicky and thanks for visiting and welcome! So happy your here!

My husband and I married when I was the age of 47, in which I have been a stay at-home housewife the entire duration of our marriage of 6 years. It’s such a true blessing to be able to stay home and be a stay at home housewife.

I love and enjoy it. My husband works a minimum wage job and we managed to purchase our first home last year with 3 acres of land, another out building, and a workshop for my husband.

I love to write and this is my haven, where I write about all things within my life along with “my journey as a housewife” here where I am able to do a daily brain dump and write and blog about all I love and enjoy doing and pursuing future goals, hopes and dreams.

If this is ever something you hope and dream of doing you can and be almost as perfectly happy as I doing it. Only God is perfect right? I hope you’ll decide to sit and have a coffee, latter or tea for all I have to blog about! Coffee with cream for me!

My Home Office

We all know exactly what I’m talking about when I combine my passions with what I also love to do which is cook, I’ll blog about my grocery hauls with ways to save, be organized and this is an area of life I have to be organized to live successfully as my husband and I do. I have a passion for experimenting with different recipes, making fresh bread while my family gets to enjoy enjoy the goodness of delicious food. I love to read many, many, books along with a hot cup of coffee strong or any type of book that is beneficial to my life!

My hope is that you will enjoy all I write and blog about here and learn new things daily as I do. Oh! That’s just one more thing I love! I love to learn all about all areas in our lives!

I have always been interested in photography and I enjoy it as a hobby and love to take photos. I’m in the process of educating myself more on this area. I want to know everything there is to know about photography, videos, editing, yet I still have to tell myself “it takes time” because in this area there is so much to know and educate yourself about and within. I also have a U-tube channelmy Journey as a housewife” and believe me when I say “I’m winging it. “

My Minolta Camera

Thanks for being here and this is a whole new blog I’m starting. My last blog was beehumblewithme.com and I decided to change it to this title” to add a little more excitement and as well as personality to my blog! Why not right? Being a housewife has become a passion of mine as I stated on a warm spring day like today.

My husband and I. He’s my best friend!

I write and blog about all I do here in my home because I am a stay at home housewife which I love and enjoy being blessed and thankful to my Savior Jesus Christ for this once in a lifetime opportunity to be the best wife and housewife I can possibly be.

My morning Bible Study time on the porch.

I enjoy and love having a cleaned and organized home. This is my cleaning closet. I tell my husband “there is a place for everything”.

My Cleaning Closet here at: my journey as a stay at home housewife.

I am a bookworm and I always have a book 2 or 3 books open somewhere in my home that I am reading so I enjoy being able to write and blog about all the fantastic books I read and you will have a chance to read about them to right here with me. I enjoy reading blogs about books other bloggers read when I’m in search of a new title to select and read.

This Devotion Is a 5 star read about living life with an eternal perspective.

You can now order Katie Bennett’s book, Heavenly Minded Mom and it’s a 90 Day devotion about living each day with an eternal perspective. It’s an interesting read. It was great! My husband and I live on 3 acres of land with Stubs our dog, our rooster his name is Brave and our chickens. We live in a beautiful cul-de-sac in the country and it’s quite the comfy and lovely place here in our mobile home.

I’m so thankful were all moving toward the different seasons in our lives as we discover new chapters in our lives and see what God has in-store for us all. I read a devotion and scripture in the morning and I will blog about my journe with Jesus Christ my Savior from time to time to. It’s such a blessing that he died on the cross to save us from our sins and I make sure to thank and praise him daily.

I just have to share with you how grateful I am for our wonderful church family at Whitley City Church of God! We are truly blessed to be members of our church and we have such a loving church family.

A Day of Travel & New TBR Reading List…

A Day of Travel & New TBR Reading List…

Well yes, I am well stocked up and I have found me some new authors even though they have been around for sometime and even though I just recently learned of these authors that have some great reading material and there’s nothing more I love than being lost in the greatness of a novel wrapped in throw to keep me warm and a hot cup of coffee or tea!

This is quite a start and there’s more to come. Don’t mind the back ground decor because we live in an older mobile home and besides were southern and we don’t need much. Plenty of hearty healthy meals, good TBN religious shows to to watch and plenty of good, good reading material. We love John Gray! My husband doesn’t miss a morning without him.

Now for my next TBR stack of books here we go! I have many great reads ahead and more to come as hour as your welcome to check on Goodreads.com for my account to see and follow along with me about all I read.

We’ve also gotten a new bulldog and he doesn’t like his new sweater even though I can not get him to wear it or get used to it, maybe another one sometime I hope in time. She’s a female and not wanting any part of this pretty purple sweater so hopefully soon. It’s winter and cold here and my babies have to be warm when going to the potty see, I’m sure you understand dogs are family to here in our home.

It was such a pretty day on this day that we had traveled from Whitley City, Ky. to Oneida, Tenn. and we had just gotten our first snow and boy did it continue to snow here and I wanted to share some photos because I know that I enjoy seeing photos from all others blogs and their lives and knowing, learning and understanding about and where we all come from. I have edited these photos to make them smaller because I didn’t realize until later that the pictures in this blog were huge and I have nowdownsized them some for my readers.

Here is more reading material so I have plenty for at least a couple weeks.

We had an errand day in the cold pretty photos though. Other wise I am enjoying my faith filled journey as and being a housewife for as long as God’s grace fills me and equips me to keep spreading his word and love along with faith and spreading and blogging about all he’s blessed myself and our family with.

Until then I’ll be enjoying my journey as a house wife and blogging about all things domesticated, housewife, vintage and all things we love in our kitchens and homes and taking care of my family as I love all of the newest things I can because I just love to learn, write, and blog about all new things!

Until next time I hope you’ve enjoyed and please come visit again bad keep returning! God Bless…

Come visit again I have many things to blog about coming this winter season! Thanks for stopping by…

It’s a dogs life…

It’s a dogs life…

He was napping here taking it Eazy he’s still a baby and my other dog Stubs continues to growl every time Eazy gets near him he growls and I hope they make friends or brothers soon!

We have church in the morning and my son will be here. He wanted the dog but I’m keeping him no matter what. At times my son had been known to move around and live with room mates or live with friends and even travel so Eazy will have a good life here with all of us.

This is the litter of all of them and I thought the back and white puppies were so cute even though all of them were adorable!

A lady from my church Gabe me this dog. He’s S bulldog and I knew hell get nice and plump here in the Garland farm! He’s so lovable and I’m so happy to have him in our home and I thought I would share some more pictures. A dog really is a man’s best friend!

What a cute face!

Happy First Day of Fall: Goals For Fall Season…

Happy First Day of Fall: Goals For Fall Season…

Happy First Day of Fall to all!

Well there have been some things I have been unsuccessful at thus far thought our summer here in the country here in KY.

We tried our hand at raising chickens and all were gotten by predators but we do plan to try again in the Spring. I had a mama that had 18 babies and all were gotten by predators. So sad but that’s what we learn to do move on, try again and not give up.

I’m am planning to have several projects going on through out for Fall and Winter.

I want to paint our entire house with my husband and myself being the painters of course.

I have an extra bedroom here in our mobile home and it has a big bay window and the bedroom has no much more light and of course I’m thinking of moving our bedroom in there.

I’m planning to take all decor down off my walls and paint, paint, paint, until our little hearts are content and bring some fresh style into our home.

I’m really leaning towards transitioning into the farm house style and look for our home.

We live in a mobile home on 3 acres and I am in love with all things vintage, farmhouse and old so this should be fun and entertaining to say the least.

I haven’t been writing much I am in need of a new laptop and I will be purchasing one soon. I’ve been researching and reading reviews on this as I want to get the best deal. This is why I haven’t been blogging so much but I plan to get back to it.

I figure it will take me through Fall and Winter to bring this new loom into my home and I will share my journey along the way.

There are several shops here and a vendors mall because I surely won’t be running out buying all things brand new I am a thrifty, frugal shopper after all and I like and enjoy things that have some wear to them and they always look great in my home.

I’m also planning to add some different furniture to our living room. My husband and I have had the same living room suite since we got married years ago. We now have a sectional and I’m thinking a couch and recliner would work just fine for us and honestly I am so tired of this sectional!

I could add a different touch to our kitchen because actually with just my husband and I, we could definitely use a smaller dinette set in our kitchen. I’m thinking and island on wheels well see!

Before I can do any of these things I hope to do through out Fall and Winter the painting has to be done first and then I’ll work on adding a little bit at a time.

I believe I’ve been in a rut and it’s time to get a grasp on ten projects I’ve been so desperately pining about each and every day.

I’ve had a battle with depression over the last few months also. I know I’ve heard it said that this time of year others battle with seasonal depression and I’m trying not to allow it to keep me this way for long.

I’ve read many, many books through out the summer season and many Amish novels to. I have to say I just love their simple way of life!

What are your plans as far as goals or transitioning into Fall and Winter. I always try to change or decor up in some way as the season change even using what I already have at times. Yes, I’ve done this many times in my home and you’d be surprised how easy it is to change the look in your home with what you already have.

This is all I have for now and great day to everyone and thank for stopping by!

These photos are from Google and Pinterest…

Pre-Historic Towns: Near or Where We Live…

Pre-Historic Towns: Near or Where We Live…

I had an old friend call me yesterday and ask me if I wanted to have lunch or the way she put it was “would you like to go have a steak with me”? She’s a lovely lady a little older than me and its always great conversation with her. I missed church but we had a lovely time!

The first stop stop was for lunch at “The Whistle Stop Cafe” and if your not familiar with the movie Fried Green Tomatoes this is where the name of the restaurant came from I’m more than sure.

This is the inside of Whistle Stop Cafe AMD it was late, late, in the day almost dinner time so they weren’t crowded at all. There was just one other table there. They had photos all across the wall and I took a walk around The Whistle Stop and had a look at then while my friend finished her lunch. I had a Ceaser salad, sirloin and loaded baked potatoes and it was heaven! I told my husband we’ll have to go there and I had never been I told my friend.

Here’s our late lunch! Yum and I don’t have steak often. My husbands a huge meat eater. I could live on vegetables.

There were photos of the coal mine when it was open here and I wish I had taken photos for you to see bit when I went for my walk around the restaurant I left my phone on the table. The were pretty amazing! There has been talk and newspaper articles here about reopening the mines Her but I don’t know if they ever will reopen.

This is inside the train depot here in Stearns, Ky. My husband and I live in Whitley City but it’s not far at all. Maybe 15 minutes or less. Stearns has a train anyone can ride and see all of historic Stearns, KY. Here and it takes you all the way through and around prehistoric Stearns, KY. And people are able to see all the prehistoric scenery and buildings that Stearns had managed to preserve.

These are down of the buildings they’ve manged to preserve here for history and they also have a museum here others can visit Mcreary County Museum and it let’s others know all about Mcreary County here.

This is a dress shop and other clothing here in Stearns called Choo Choo’s. I thought these were fantastic and honestly I wish more clothing and attire was like this to date. I love these dresses and clothing. I plan to go back sometime and shop and I’m sure I can find some comfortable clothing for a housewife.

The brown building here is where we have The Vendors Mall. It’s funny of booths and a person can find really great deals here and I do have decor here in my home I have purchased here.

It’s pretty amazing how they’ve managed to preserve all this here. Stearns I’d in the national prehistoric registry and I believe the heritage foundation.

I hope you’ve enjoyed all I’ve shown you here on the blog and written about today and if you are ever in the eastern Ky. Area it would be a wonderful place for the family to stop and visit and we also have huge South Fork park here. I’ll try and write a blog about South Fork sometime when after I get photos. The history of a town and preserving it is always so interesting to me.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Vicky

Review – Oceans Apart by Karen Kingsbury…

Review – Oceans Apart by Karen Kingsbury…

Yes, it is one Karen’s older titles and I was surprised when I found it on my book shelf the other day when I was starved for a good book to read and Karen’s always are a great read.

There’s always a lesson in her books, an act of forgiveness or a faith based way to deal with hardships in life or tackle a situation head on and have plenty of courage and strength after prayer.

This book “Ocean’s Apart” really touched my soul. Connor was an airline pilot and Michelle his wife, married with 2 beautiful girls living the American dream with being the happy, perfect family.

On the other side of the world to this family in Honolulu, Hawaii is Keisha and her son Max. She is an airline stewardess raising her son alone and while she’ll has to work on a 2 day flight once a week, Rami is an older lady and friend and has cared for Max his entire life since birth.

Connor receives a phone call one day from an attorney. Keisha was killed in a plane crash there were no survivors and has left in her last will and testimony that Max is to spend 2 weeks with his biological father before he is turned over to the foster care system. Upon the end of the two weeks Connor must decide “will he keep Max and be the father he’s never known or had”?

Not only did Connor know anything about Max but neither did Michelle his wife. When he has to tell Michelle about his infidelity 8 years ago during her bout with depression their marriage starts to crumble. At first Michelle completely shuns this little boy that is impossible not to love! But run out and grab your copy at a bookstore or your local library and read this novel to see how it plays out and with love comes forgiveness and it will take a forgiveness miracle to render this situation for this family and make then whole again.

Will it happen for Max or not?

Will God answer Remi’s forgiveness miracle for Max?

I sure hope you’ll read this novel and find out. All of Karen’s books usually come with a study guide at the end of the book and she has several verses listed to add to the study at times with the study questions to help readers really dig in and become more grounded in our journey of Faith and our relationship with God.

I’ve learned so much about myself and my journey of Faith ANS I definitely recommend Karen Kingsbury’s book! Or books!

I hope you enjoy and God Bless…
