Another Day in Paradise…

Another Day in Paradise…

Being able to stay home and take care of my family daily is a task I’ve enjoyed the entire duration for as long as I can remember and I even enjoyed it when my children were younger. I  have been blessed even when I lived on very low income and it can be done at times I just had to make sacrifices as to what’s more important than the other or as to when. I can honestly say I live and have a very full filling life today and God and my faiths have been a huge part of this.

I’m proud to call myself the the homemaker of my home and such. In other words I do it all and enjoy it. I take care of my home and do all things domestic and at times otherwise or when it’s needed, sew and read all types of very interesting books.  My two favorite hobbies are reading and sewing and yes reading had t come first. I am a bookworm! What would the world be like without books? I couldn’t even imagine.  and there is never a time I don’t have a bookmark in a book, or two or three, here in my home. This is one bookshelf and I currently have books stored in the bottom of a desk that I’m slowly but surely turning into a book case or when I find the right book case or thrift find, of course, I will invest in  it and add it to my home. I know, I know, the big Kon Marie going on it’s the biggest new thing when it comes to decluttering but sorry books are one thing I want to keep and purchase more of! Hopefully one day I’ll have a new library and I’m working on my book selection here looking much better than it does believe me!

My Journey As A Housewife Photos 294

But first, this room has been my catch all while I declutter all through the house because Spring is coming fast and I want to be ready. It’s just ordered a  common thing that has to be and I can’t live without. What haven’t I decluttered and I believe I’m just about there:

Yes, I know it’s been quite the tasks allow me to make that plural and it’s probably overwhelming just seeing the photos here.

I had a coat closet off from my kitchen that I really needed the use of if you recall last year it was my cleaning closet. I decided after I read a blog post about POU, point of use that I could move all of my cleaning supplies to the hall closet and I could finally move the towels that had been under the bathroom cabinet since this place was purchased and  this place along with all the other accessories that were crammed in there I could finally move them to the hall closet like I have been wanting to do forever. I wish I could remember the blogger and blog post but right now I don’t. I do like to give credit where credit is doing.

I tackled my bedroom closet and I knew it was going to be a dreaded chore. It had been for a while but, I have to prepare for Spring and Summer coming behind it and as I worked on all of it a little each day it has all come together. I just shared the photos all together and I hope it’s not too confusing.  Id live in a mobile home, it’s an older one nothing to fancy but I loved older and antique anything! And I want to get my sewing machine up and going but that’s an entirely different blog post. It works fine I just haven’t used it for a while. We’ll move on and I will tell you about my latest hobbies!

As I said I’m sewing or reading and these are the projects I’ve chosen to work on for a while and they’ll keep me content and busy!

My Journey As A Housewife Photos 110

I picked up Reese Wither spoon’s Whiskey in a Teacup, her new book and it’s been a really interesting read. My favorite chapter is the chapter she writes about hot rollers and no spoiler alerts you’ll just have to read the book and I don’t want to spoil it for you. It’s such a nice book to just curl up one evening with and have a hot tea or coffee and binge read even though I haven’t had the time, I would love to.

It’s such a pretty book inside and out and Reese also writes about her family and growing up in Tennessee. It comes with recipes from her grandmother that I can’t believe she shared and I’m definitely trying her grandmother’s sun tea!

As far as my sewing projects I’ve chosen a few. I ordered a small needlepoint just for practice because I have a Thomas Kincaid cross stitch I picked up that I’m excited about starting on. Since I haven’t done cross stitch or embroidery for a while I am using this one for practice. I will probably be working on my cross stitch quilt and my Thomas Kincaid both at the same time. I can’t wait to see how my quilt turns out either. I will show you my pattern though.

These are what I’ll be having fun with and enjoying working on. The tool is an auger if I spelled that right. It’s a hand made antique drill and I saw it and thought it to be a unique piece. It would really look nice hanging somewhere even if hanging in my garden area. Just a thought who knows.  The dear sewing machine I have neglected to use. but I hope to be using it soon. I want to attempt to make some house dresses and other clothing in time. They would be absolutely cool and comfortable for Spring or Summer.

If your a blog reader as I am and you sew I have found a website I have been reading at daily and it’s called:

Bee Humble With Me … Again… Jan. Is Gone Hello Feb.

Bee Humble With Me … Again… Jan. Is Gone Hello Feb.

It seems I have to stay with beehumblewithme.com during:

My Journey as Housewife..

It’s where my blog originated from and I can’t still enjoy and follow my journey as well as others in:

My Journey as a Housewife!

I do hope you’ll still follow along. I originally wanted the word humble. in the name of my blog because of course I want and hope to humble others by my writing, what I do each day, the great books I read and walking through every day life as strong, empowering woman.

Great Books I’ve been reading.

Court of Thorns and Roses series

Another good I picked up for bedtime and bedside reading. I’m anxious to see what she has to say about the south!

Whiskey in a Teacup book

My favorite on Netflix has been what can say scintilla please!

Anne and Bell her love in a horse
Great pic of Anne then them songs start

Anne with an E and what a fabulous show!

Around the house I’ve declutter and moved things around and made my original coat closet from a cleaning closet to a coat closet and cleaned out my hall closet and stashed it with fresh towels, cleaning supplies and a very special placement for my cast iron skillets! It turned out fabulous, of course I have quite a few boxes to move to the pit building. Plenty of time it’s winter.

And of course all is well at home days I have when I just want to curl up with S book and then again I have days where I can’t get enough cleanliness and organizing in. I have yet to watch Linnaeus on Netflix because if there is anything I want my home to reflect it’s Joy! As she has started. More than like I’ll be pitching several things. I see a yard sale coming in the Spring. Do other feel like I do? I have so much! I want to and can be happy living with less! I’ll be on a roll.

My new Netflix favorite is Life Below Zero! It’s pretty amazing how these people live and a person could really learn so much. My husband and I love it! Yes we are still happily married! Joined by my son which makes me so happy!

My makeover cleaning closet
Hall closet makeover
Hall closet make over
My hall closet

All the family in my home seemed to want to hang there coats all over or on my kitchen chairs so I’m hoping this does the trick! I thought about a coat rack my the door but why when I have a perfectly use able coat closet that had been being utilized for a while for my cleaning closet it all worked out and I am very pleased even though I procrastinated about it for some time. Don’t we all do that?

Our Pets Stubs and Bella

Bella and Stubs are still happy as ever in the family! Bella is growing like a weed. Potty training well let’s just say it will come in time because at times she misses. They eat well and that makes for happiness for our fur babies. They’ll be even happier tomorrow when their chewy. come box arrives.

Bella is getting a new collar I can’t seem to find one big enough to fit her, a bed for her, a bed for stubs, next, some rest flavored bones, and a big hug of tasty treats! One thing at a time right. Stubs sleep with my son Bella with us but I’m hoping they’ll like there beds. Bella is going to get much bigger. Their both such great dogs for family.

Projects or hobby’s

I’m looking into starting needlepoint when I purchase supplies. I think I’ll really enjoy it.

My husband is planning to saw down trees and start and eventually built us a fence.

It really is Delicious!

New reading glasses so cool and love the colors! I read all the time. Had to have them!

Four Seasons in 7 days and What Must We do with our time? Be domestic of course…

Four Seasons in 7 days and What Must We do with our time? Be domestic of course…

It’s rained, snowed, had some sunshine the rain, rain, rain. We must have a creative mind and imagination and yes love a clean home as a housewife even though I respect all women with careers I just do better at home now and it works for our family.

For sure a blog will be posted. I’ve been so busy and there’s only do much time in a day and time gets away from us plus I’m always engulfed in a book!

My current read that I’ve had reserved!

I’ve had this reserved at the library and it finally came in.

I’m in love with this kitchen decor! Found it at a store called Jimminy Crickets & love her prices!

I’ve done so much cleaning and decluttering lately. I think that when many of us get this done is winter time. I miss my warm weather and I have to find things to do indoors even if it is cleaning or decluttering and you don’t realize how much you accumulate until you get into the task of doing it.

My son thought it would be cute to curl her ears back! So cute!
Sweet Bella she’s growing!

Still taking care of my Bella and Stubs there family. It’s been a tough task getting Bella potty train. I’m using the potty pads sometimes she does well at times not. They love each other now. I’m so grateful. I’ve also started making the homemade dog treats, and there so much healthier, budget friendly to make and we all know our bills budget soars in the winter and our low speed months kick in for quite a few months so I’m saving a buck anyway I can. Happy there happy with them and eat them well!

Living room is a mesas while I clean elsewhere!
Always be happy!
A Gift from my son!

Yum! Yum!
A Gift from my son!

This is my oldest son he’s moved here permanently and I’m so happy for this. I feel more at ease with him here. He has a mental illness so I’m especially grateful and my heart no longer hurts for him. He is loved and worthy and I make sure he knows it daily.

Otherwise I’ve done so much cleaning, dusting, organizing and decluttering. These are the things we find to do to fill our winter days or so least I do.

I took a break for a while and my number 1 goal is to blog more. Yes, I’ll be doing  blogs on goals for sure for 2019. Most bloggers do, just remember they must be realistic. That’s the trick to it.

Dinner this evening was beans, cornbread and fried potatoes, it was delicious and a very fulfilling meal I added shredded carrots for color and they turned out nicely! Very filling with even some leftovers. Good for the budget when we can reuse left overs.

Living room and can’t you just tell I’m elsewhere cleaning and cleaning!
“Don’t let the sun go down on our anger! Sure we all have it at times!

I love my counter display I even put my own twists on them and add southern charm always! Organization and order in life is a have to for me and a must! Make it fun !

I change mine up at times probably to much.

I’m looking forward to all of our 2019 goals end anxious to see what we accomplish through out this year !

Let’s have a wonderful year and endure the persevere thatd6yhe key to weather the storm no matter and still praise Him through our storms.

Way past my bedtime and until next time dears! We do live in the country and sleep peacefully however, it’s late!

I have a loving husband that is my best friend, my son is happy here and:

Today I choose Joy!

With great books all the classics!

A Day of Travel & New TBR Reading List…

A Day of Travel & New TBR Reading List…

Well yes, I am well stocked up and I have found me some new authors even though they have been around for sometime and even though I just recently learned of these authors that have some great reading material and there’s nothing more I love than being lost in the greatness of a novel wrapped in throw to keep me warm and a hot cup of coffee or tea!

This is quite a start and there’s more to come. Don’t mind the back ground decor because we live in an older mobile home and besides were southern and we don’t need much. Plenty of hearty healthy meals, good TBN religious shows to to watch and plenty of good, good reading material. We love John Gray! My husband doesn’t miss a morning without him.

Now for my next TBR stack of books here we go! I have many great reads ahead and more to come as hour as your welcome to check on Goodreads.com for my account to see and follow along with me about all I read.

We’ve also gotten a new bulldog and he doesn’t like his new sweater even though I can not get him to wear it or get used to it, maybe another one sometime I hope in time. She’s a female and not wanting any part of this pretty purple sweater so hopefully soon. It’s winter and cold here and my babies have to be warm when going to the potty see, I’m sure you understand dogs are family to here in our home.

It was such a pretty day on this day that we had traveled from Whitley City, Ky. to Oneida, Tenn. and we had just gotten our first snow and boy did it continue to snow here and I wanted to share some photos because I know that I enjoy seeing photos from all others blogs and their lives and knowing, learning and understanding about and where we all come from. I have edited these photos to make them smaller because I didn’t realize until later that the pictures in this blog were huge and I have nowdownsized them some for my readers.

Here is more reading material so I have plenty for at least a couple weeks.

We had an errand day in the cold pretty photos though. Other wise I am enjoying my faith filled journey as and being a housewife for as long as God’s grace fills me and equips me to keep spreading his word and love along with faith and spreading and blogging about all he’s blessed myself and our family with.

Until then I’ll be enjoying my journey as a house wife and blogging about all things domesticated, housewife, vintage and all things we love in our kitchens and homes and taking care of my family as I love all of the newest things I can because I just love to learn, write, and blog about all new things!

Until next time I hope you’ve enjoyed and please come visit again bad keep returning! God Bless…

Come visit again I have many things to blog about coming this winter season! Thanks for stopping by…

Pre-Historic Towns: Near or Where We Live…

Pre-Historic Towns: Near or Where We Live…

I had an old friend call me yesterday and ask me if I wanted to have lunch or the way she put it was “would you like to go have a steak with me”? She’s a lovely lady a little older than me and its always great conversation with her. I missed church but we had a lovely time!

The first stop stop was for lunch at “The Whistle Stop Cafe” and if your not familiar with the movie Fried Green Tomatoes this is where the name of the restaurant came from I’m more than sure.

This is the inside of Whistle Stop Cafe AMD it was late, late, in the day almost dinner time so they weren’t crowded at all. There was just one other table there. They had photos all across the wall and I took a walk around The Whistle Stop and had a look at then while my friend finished her lunch. I had a Ceaser salad, sirloin and loaded baked potatoes and it was heaven! I told my husband we’ll have to go there and I had never been I told my friend.

Here’s our late lunch! Yum and I don’t have steak often. My husbands a huge meat eater. I could live on vegetables.

There were photos of the coal mine when it was open here and I wish I had taken photos for you to see bit when I went for my walk around the restaurant I left my phone on the table. The were pretty amazing! There has been talk and newspaper articles here about reopening the mines Her but I don’t know if they ever will reopen.

This is inside the train depot here in Stearns, Ky. My husband and I live in Whitley City but it’s not far at all. Maybe 15 minutes or less. Stearns has a train anyone can ride and see all of historic Stearns, KY. Here and it takes you all the way through and around prehistoric Stearns, KY. And people are able to see all the prehistoric scenery and buildings that Stearns had managed to preserve.

These are down of the buildings they’ve manged to preserve here for history and they also have a museum here others can visit Mcreary County Museum and it let’s others know all about Mcreary County here.

This is a dress shop and other clothing here in Stearns called Choo Choo’s. I thought these were fantastic and honestly I wish more clothing and attire was like this to date. I love these dresses and clothing. I plan to go back sometime and shop and I’m sure I can find some comfortable clothing for a housewife.

The brown building here is where we have The Vendors Mall. It’s funny of booths and a person can find really great deals here and I do have decor here in my home I have purchased here.

It’s pretty amazing how they’ve managed to preserve all this here. Stearns I’d in the national prehistoric registry and I believe the heritage foundation.

I hope you’ve enjoyed all I’ve shown you here on the blog and written about today and if you are ever in the eastern Ky. Area it would be a wonderful place for the family to stop and visit and we also have huge South Fork park here. I’ll try and write a blog about South Fork sometime when after I get photos. The history of a town and preserving it is always so interesting to me.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Review – Oceans Apart by Karen Kingsbury…

Review – Oceans Apart by Karen Kingsbury…

Yes, it is one Karen’s older titles and I was surprised when I found it on my book shelf the other day when I was starved for a good book to read and Karen’s always are a great read.

There’s always a lesson in her books, an act of forgiveness or a faith based way to deal with hardships in life or tackle a situation head on and have plenty of courage and strength after prayer.

This book “Ocean’s Apart” really touched my soul. Connor was an airline pilot and Michelle his wife, married with 2 beautiful girls living the American dream with being the happy, perfect family.

On the other side of the world to this family in Honolulu, Hawaii is Keisha and her son Max. She is an airline stewardess raising her son alone and while she’ll has to work on a 2 day flight once a week, Rami is an older lady and friend and has cared for Max his entire life since birth.

Connor receives a phone call one day from an attorney. Keisha was killed in a plane crash there were no survivors and has left in her last will and testimony that Max is to spend 2 weeks with his biological father before he is turned over to the foster care system. Upon the end of the two weeks Connor must decide “will he keep Max and be the father he’s never known or had”?

Not only did Connor know anything about Max but neither did Michelle his wife. When he has to tell Michelle about his infidelity 8 years ago during her bout with depression their marriage starts to crumble. At first Michelle completely shuns this little boy that is impossible not to love! But run out and grab your copy at a bookstore or your local library and read this novel to see how it plays out and with love comes forgiveness and it will take a forgiveness miracle to render this situation for this family and make then whole again.

Will it happen for Max or not?

Will God answer Remi’s forgiveness miracle for Max?

I sure hope you’ll read this novel and find out. All of Karen’s books usually come with a study guide at the end of the book and she has several verses listed to add to the study at times with the study questions to help readers really dig in and become more grounded in our journey of Faith and our relationship with God.

I’ve learned so much about myself and my journey of Faith ANS I definitely recommend Karen Kingsbury’s book! Or books!

I hope you enjoy and God Bless…
